10 Jun Launching EQWIP HUBs
We are very excited to introduce you to our latest global youth initiative, EQWIP HUBs. This cutting edge initiative represents an innovative new chapter in YCI’s history, and as part of the YCI family, we want you to be the first to know.
EQWIP HUBs is a dynamic network of 17 innovation spaces launching this spring in urban centres across Bolivia, Ghana, Indonesia, Peru, Senegal and Tanzania with a goal to connect and transform the economic trajectory of youth facing the growing challenge of under/unemployment.
Powered by EQWIP, a strategic alliance of Canada World Youth (CWY-JCM) and Youth Challenge International, two of Canada’s leading youth development organizations, it will become a platform for young minds in developing countries – especially women – to build market-relevant skills, and gain access to mentorship, networks, technology and resources to prepare them for meaningful employment, or to launch a new wave of enterprise.
This week we are launching global opportunities for qualified and passionate young Canadians to volunteer as part of specialized EQWIP HUBs Global Teams.
Starting in October 2015, each team will spend 8 months developing one of our 17 EQWIP HUBs, fuelling cross-cultural innovation and peer-to-peer mentorship with local youth. These unique opportunities build upon YCI’s renowned global youth innovation programs, and the first round of applications are open until July 31, 2015. Shorter-term opportunities will become available in autumn 2015.
We invite you to learn more on our new website, apply to one of our EQWIP HUBs Global Teams and share our global opportunities widely.
Let’s propel 100,000 #YouthForward by 2020,
P.s. We encourage you to apply to EQWIP HUBs soon, opportunities are limited!
