To further expand our impact, YCI is exploring Kenya as strategic and programming hub for programming, innovation and enterprise development. We believe that by anchoring operations in Kenya, YCI can enhance resource mobilization, knowledge-sharing and ecosystem building, while ensuring sustainable impact across East Africa.
To support this growth, YCI is seeking a Business Development Consultant/s to support some of the organization’s strategic positioning, regional expansion and operational scaling.
This consultancy will include these key focus areas:
- Supporting a strategic roadmap for YCI’s growth, outlining operational, programmatic and future partnership models;
- Identifying and responding to funding opportunities, including donor engagement, funding partnership development, proposal development and innovative financing;
- Supporting programs and operations during start-up;
- Strengthening regional partnerships by engaging key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector, NGOs and regional networks;
- Providing regulatory and operational guidance for YCI’s legal setup and governance structure in Kenya and across the region.
The ideal candidate/s should possess:
- Proven experience in business development, market research, program design and proposal development, specifically in East Africa;
- A strong understanding of the youth economic ecosystems, including employment, entrepreneurship and enterprise development in Kenya and surrounding economies;
- Experience with NGO placement and operational setup, including legal and regulatory compliance;
- Strong knowledge of donor priorities, funding mechanisms, and regional economic trends;
- Demonstrated success in securing funding from institutional donors, private sector partners, and impact investors;
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Details
Citizenship: Please note applicants must be a citizen of Kenya.
Daily rate: 15,000 Kenyan Shillings per day.
