Calgary Clothing Swap is an initiative that aims to make sustainable fashion more popular in Calgary, supported by YCI’s Climate Futures Lab. Team members Hannah, Rithanya, Grayson and Preet channeled their passion for conscious fashion to increase awareness for sustainable consumption habits.

Using their skills in communication and design, the team organized an online campaign to champion conscious consumer habits while promoting their free clothing swap event where members of their community can participate to exchange gently used garments and update their wardrobe in a sustainable (and free!) way. Their first clothing swap event garnered over 50 attendees from all over the Calgary Metropolitan Area.

Given the immense popularity and success of their inaugural event, the team is already planning more clothing swaps events to engage even more people in conscious fashion consumption.
