Quincy is creating the Eco-Roof Incentive which aims to mitigate the urban heat island (UHI) effect. The project uses the Toronto Green Roof Bylaw to incentivize industrial buildings to adopt green roofs and provide eco-roofs for residential homes at a subsidized cost. The Eco-Roof Incentive will provide an effective solution to the UHI effect and encourage citizens to get involved in environmental activism on an individual level.
Quincy is currently in his final year of studies in Environmental Management at York University’s Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change. Born and raised in the City of Markham, he is passionate about helping his community and hopes to address issues like watershed management to reduce the impact of climate change in our everyday lives.
