Purvangi helped create Change for Transit (C4T) through YCI’s Innovate MY Future program to address the growing gaps between public transport infrastructure and the community in cities across the GTHA. The project aims to rethink the culture that surrounds mobility and public infrastructure while empowering youth to engage in developing creative solutions by working together with community members, non-profit organizations, developers and planners, and governing and transit agencies.
Purvangi is located in Brampton and her project is focused on the GTHA region. As an aspiring architect and urban planner, she’s interested in the impact of the built environment and public infrastructure on climate change and social inequality. Through YCI’s Youth Climate Leadership Program, Purvangi hopes to better understand the skills needed to work with communities, governing bodies and non-profits to lead successful and innovative urban development.
