Leila is creating a website that shares info on sustainable consumption and encourages people to buy produce from local farmers’ markets. She is working with a team of computer science university students passionate about gaining climate knowledge and software development experience. Leila aims to encourage those that are not typically involved in climate action initiatives to join a project that will help them take action and expand their knowledge on the issue.
Leila is from Burlington and is currently studying GIS, computer science and mathematics at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus. After studying the effects and injustices of climate change from her courses and research, Leila discovered that she is passionate about encouraging youth to stay informed and involved in climate action.
