Jonathan is assembling and distributing kits with materials and information to support local pollinator populations, including seeds for planting a pollinator-friendly garden. Inspired by the Little Free Library movement and motivated by recent declines in pollinator populations, he created the kits for individuals, families and educators to create a network of pollinator-friendly spaces in the GTHA. The project also aims to share tools and information online for people to adapt the kits for their hometown and further support those seeking to engage in pollinator-friendly activities.
Jonathan is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto. His commitment to climate action began as a result of his interests in ecology and conservation. Through YCI’s Youth Climate Leadership Program, Jonathan hopes to develop a project that makes pollinator-friendly actions more accessible and engaging for residents of the GTHA.
