Jasia

Jasia’s climate action project seeks to educate children, youth, and adults within the GTA on how they can become part of the sustainable fashion movement. She‘s starting this initiative with a female led repair studio in her Regent Park community. She hopes to not only support sustainable recycling and upcycling, but also promote cultural practices of sewing and repair.  

 

Jasia lives in Regent Park and is passionate about educating the next generation about climate change. As a Climate Leader, she hopes to help future generations lean towards a more sustainable fashion industry. The inspiration of a project that involves re-using clothing material and creating new products came after she met a woman who was enrolled in a program within the community that teaches sewing skills and fashion design. The project provides community members a chance to use their skills for an income.
