Angelina

Angelina helped create Food Unity through YCI’s Innovate MY Future program with the mission to engage, empower and employ youth in under-served communities to increase food access and reduce food waste. The project aims to pilot a week-long meal subscription program to serve families in the Black Creek community with healthy and culturally appropriate meals that are prepared by youth using rescued food in partnership with Second Harvest.

Angelina represents North York and has a passion for supporting communities to tackle social and environmental injustices exacerbated by climate change. In YCI’s Youth Climate Leadership Program, Angelina and the Food Unity team are addressing the intersections between food insecurity, food waste and youth engagement. Angelina believes that the journey of taking climate action requires the mindset of leaving no one behind.
