The Breakaways are creating a Youth Cycling Ambassador Program in partnership with Cycle Toronto that promotes active transportation advocacy across the City of Toronto. Youth can work alongside Cycle Toronto’s Move 365 initiative team on their campaigns for connecting Toronto with protected bike lanes outside of the downtown core and act as youth community representatives to promote awareness and participation in Cycle Toronto initiatives while receiving mentorship from a team member. The team hopes to reach youth in communities where there is a lack of bike infrastructure and improve equitable access to cycling through greater active transportation advocacy and awareness.
