If you are ready to make a difference, then take these steps and apply to YCI!

Determine your eligibility and suitability: |
| |
|
Make sure you meet all the following eligibility criteria
- You must be 18 to 30 years of age;
- An American or Canadian citizen or a landed immigrant to Canada or the United States. YCI welcomes international applications, however, these will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis;
- Capable in English - both verbal and written;
- Physically able to deal with our field conditions
But also make sure you fit the following profile:
- Motivated to make a positive change
- Interested in seeing the world
- Seeking an opportunity to live and work with a small team, larger group or individually within a local host organization
- Available for a 5 to 10 week project
- Able to fundraise or contribute funds to YCI’s Global Youth Development programs

Have a telephone interview: |

Once you have applied, we will contact you within 1 to 2 days to book a phone interview. It is important that you call for your phone interview as scheduled, as we receive 4 applications for every volunteer placement available. But don't be intimidated - we just want to make sure you have the personal attributes necessary for the program. |

Start preparing: |

Once you have been selected, it's time to start preparing! There's lots to do, but we make it easy for you by providing a predeparture manual and other preparation resources. |
