November 27, 2009 - TYC presents The Cause
Toronto Youth Cabinet (TYC) and the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) Presents: The CAUSE – a positive youth-led event that showcases youth-serving and youth-led organizations and the various opportunities available to young people. These opportunities range from leadership to violence prevention, artistic expression to recreation, employment to social justice and activism to education. Bill C-293, also known as the "better aid bill," was passed in parliament today. The Bill makes ending poverty the exclusive goal of Canadian foreign aid.Canada’s foreign aid must now focus on poverty reduction, take into account the priorities of the people living in poverty and be consistent with Canada’s international human rights obligations.
